AskOnline has provided a means to success for students who would not have had the opportunity to benefit from tutor support due to time or financial constraints.The support provided by the technical team at AskOnline has always been prompt and reliable. Last night, a student came in requesting help with her essay. Her speech was slurred, and I had a very hard time communicating until I realized she was deaf. We began writing notes to each other; however, this was a very slow process. I finally suggested that we should use the computer for faster communciation. At this time, I recommended that she use AskOnline.net and explained that doing this, she could use the chat line and submit her papers. I helped her register and began to demonstrate the chat line. I signed in and immediately got a response. When the student saw this, her eyes widened and all she could get out was "Oh, oh, oh." I explained to the online tutor that the student was deaf and that she would be using the chat line frequently. The tutor replied that she was very anxious to help. The student's face actually began to shine and her hands shook with excitement. I showed her how to submit a paper, and after many thank yous, she proudly told me she was going to learn how to say my name perfectly...............and she did. Today I received an email from her. She is still extremely excited and hopeful that learning is going to be a lot easier for her. This is why we teach. This project is a good thing... It is worth every cent. Thank you for working so hard and getting it started.

Rather than depending on "canned" responses or tutors who may know the content but not the college culture, AskOnline bridges the gap between virtual and real campuses, and provides students who cannot physically get to a tutoring center with the same support as those on campus. This "just in time" learning can only improve student retention and course completion.
